A moderately paced run with a few stops to enjoy sites, listen to interesting information and fun facts.
The tour begins at Castel Sant'Angelo, where basic information will be provided and a brief warm-up can be done prior to the run. We will then all proceed along the River Tiber for a few blocks, cross the Cavour Bridge and check-out the majestic Mausoleum of Augusts next to the wordly-known Ara Pacis.
"We booked the Running Tour through Rome with Kristin and there is only one word to describe it: GREAT! We were a small group, the weather was gorgeous and we ran a approx. 6.5 km tour through Rome at a very convenient pace passing most of the most spectacular sights in Rome. Kristin stopped at the most interesting spots and gave us explanation mixed with roman trivia, so we also had a lot of laughs. Kristin also gave explanations while we where running whenever we passed a spot of interest." - Michael, Germany
After passing by old stores of Valadier's Via Ripetta, we will reach Piazza del Popolo and proceed through a hidden cobblestone street with small boutiques and antic shops, until it opens onto the Spanish Steps. A small break for water at the Bernini fountain "La Barcaccia" and then spin through the crowds until we reach the most famous fountain of all: the Trevi Fountain.
The run becomes romantic, running through a street under beautiful baroque arches, until we reach Piazza Venezia and the Victor Emanuel Monument. Our "city circle" then closes by running by the Pantheon and then through Piazza Navona and back to Castel Sant'Angelo after crossing the river again.
"I did the Rome running tour with Kristin on my first full day in Rome and it was absolutely fantastic! I normally run in cities I visit during the morning on my own. But this took my morning workout to a whole new level. We hit several key attractions that turned into my list of place to hit during the rest of my visit. The pace was not to slow or too fast plus we made stops so Kristin could explain all everything and we had a chance to take pictures if we wanted." - Jay, Florida
