Can I bring a bag with me inside the Vatican?

The Vatican Museums allow visitors to bring bags that are no larger than 15.7 inch x 13.7 inch x 6 inch (40 cm x 35 cm x 15 cm). If your bag is larger or if you are carrying a long umbrella or camera tripods you will have to check in your items into the wardrobe at the entrance of the museums (the guide will help you). If you have checked your items you will have to go back to the entrance after the tour and collect your things. The walk from the Basilica (where the tour ends) to the entrance takes around 10 mins.

Do you offer hotel pickup service?

Yes, we offer pickup services from your hotel to all our private tours. You can easily add on the service when booking a tour. Please note that the service only includes one-way. Contact us if you wish to add a return trip.

Can I bring food and drinks inside the Vatican?

You are allowed to bring drinks inside the Vatican Museums (as long as they are not in glass or can) and small snacks in packages such as chocolate bars.

Do I need to bring my confirmation email to the meeting point?

You are not obliged to show your confirmation email at the meeting point, we will have your name on the list and that is sufficient. We do recommend you to carefully study the confirmation email since it has detailed information about the meeting point, starting times and emergency phone numbers.

How will I recognize my LivItaly tour guide at the meeting point?

Your tour guide and / or a LivItaly’s representative is always present at the meeting point 15 minutes prior the starting time. He/she will hold a LivItaly sign, making it easy for you to spot us.

Where is my confirmation email?

You will receive a confirmation email directly upon booking. Please check your spam inbox if you have not received an email.

Why am I having problems booking on your website?

If you are using an old version of the browser Internet Explorer (Explorer 9 and/or before), you might have some problems proceeding with your booking. Try to either update your internet browser or try using a different one (i.e. Firefox Mozilla, Safari or Chrome). You are always welcome to call or email us and we will be happy to help you finalize the booking.

Are tickets included in the price?

Yes, all prices on LivItay’s website are always all-inclusive, which means that there are no hidden costs. The price you pay upon booking includes tickets, reservation fees (food, wine, vespas and segways in case of the experiences) and tour guide.

What is the Cancellation Policy for bookings?

LivItaly Tours must be advised of cancellations in written (email) form or by phone directly to our Italy Office (+39 335 156 9642). PRIVATE EXPERIENCES: Cancellations of PRIVATE tour Experiences must be made at least 5 days before the scheduled touring date in order to receive a full refund. PRIVATE tour Experiences cancelled 4 days before its scheduled touring date will receive a partial refund of 50%. PRIVATE Experiences cancelled 72 hours or less from scheduled touring date are not refundable. No-shows are treated as last-minute cancellations and are non-refundable. SEMI-PRIVATE EXPERIENCES: Cancellations of SEMI-PRIVATE tour Experiences made up to 72 hours before scheduled touring date are refundable. SEMI-PRIVATE tour Experiences cancelled less than 72 hours before scheduled touring date are NOT refundable. TRANSFERS: TRANSFER cancellations made up to 48 hours before scheduled transfer date are refundable. TRANSFER cancellations made less than 48 hours before transfer date are non-refundable. No-shows are treated as last-minute cancellations and are non-refundable. No-Shows: Clients who are not at a designated meeting point or pickup point at the agreed upon time are considered No-Shows (unless they have alerted LivItaly Tours LLC beforehand by phone). All No-Shows will be considered late-cancellation. It’s the client’s responsibility to alert LivItaly Tours LLC at (+39 335 156 9642) in the event of late arrivals or travel delays. Weather: Touring Experiences are held rain or shine with some variations to accommodate the weather. No refund will be given for rainy days, hot weather, etc. Closures & Transportation Delays or Strikes: In the event there is an unexpected closure of an attraction (ie: St. Peter’s Basilica, Sistine Chapel) when possible we will either contact you to reschedule around the closure or your guide will provide an alternative Itinerary to your Experience. Flight delays, cancellations, and transportation strikes can and do happen. In the event of flight complications delaying your arrival, please call us at our Italy office (+39 335 156 9642) to let us know so that we can reschedule your touring Experiences or transfers. No refunds can be given for events which are out of LivItaly’s control and responsibility (flight delays, transportation strikes, site closures). Museum/Site Tickets: All pre-purchased entrance fees are non-refundable upon completion of a booking. Refunds will only be granted in accordance with our cancellation policy. In the event that a change of date is necessary or requested by clients, it will be considered on a case by case basis, depending on the policy of reusability of tickets in question.

Can you help me make arrangements to get to and from the airport?

Absolutely! If you are planning to reserve one of our tours, we will be happy to help you with your airport shuttle reservations as well.

We are travelling with our young children. How does this work?

Children under the age of 5 years are welcome to join all our tours for free.

LivItaly Tours offer tours that are designed for families with children. Please have a look at our Treasure Hunts at the Vatican, Colosseum and Underground Rome.

Can we request a different starting time for our tours?

For private tours; we are flexible about the starting time. Please consult us before booking if you wish to start another time than the ones proposed on the tour’s webpage.

For small group tours; we can start at a differet time if your party has 6 people in it. Please contact us prior to your booking.

What about the Colosseum? I’ve heard that there are long queues there also.

Yes, many times there are. When booking a tour with LivItaly, you will never have to worry about standing in line. Our prices always includes entry tickets with skip-the-line access.

What does privileged entrance at the Vatican Museum mean?

Entrance for the general public to the Vatican Museum is usually preceded by long lines which snake alongside the walls of the Vatican city – many times (especially in the high tourist season or on weekends) making a 1-3 hour long wait not. LivItaly Tours has been granted privileged entrance rights to the Vatican Museums. This means that we have daily, specially reserved VIP slots so that our guests can avoid the long queues.

When will I know all of the details regarding the tour I am interested in reserving?

Once you have sent us the completed reservation form (or called one of our representatives), you will receive an email confirmation of your reservation (date, time, total cost, and method of payment). Please check your spam inbox since the email might get stuck there.

I don’t feel comfortable making online reservations. Is there someone I can call or email directly?
