Your semi-private Florence walking tour begins at Piazza della Signoria where you will start your stroll through the medieval streets where famous artists like Dante, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci once called home. Soon enough you will be in Palazzo Vecchio where you can admire a replica of Michelangelo’s David, giving you a taste of what is to come.
Your next stop, you will be heading towards the renowned medieval bridge known as Ponte Vecchio where you can stop and admire the Arno River. Here you can take charming photos and browse the local jewelry shops nestled along both sides of the bridge. Once you are ready, your guide will walk you to the very center of Florence, the Piazza della Repubblica, which once housed the Roman Forum. Today the square is lined with great cafes and a central meeting point for Florentines.
Next, it is on to the Cathedral of Florence, commonly known as the Duomo. Take a moment to soak up the beautiful work of this icon of Florence with its detailed exterior in white, green, and red marble. Stare in awe while you learn about the talented architect Filippo Brunelleschi from your expert guide. Depending on crowds, you will enter the Cathedral to view the marvelous interior and the stunning frescos. No visit to the Duomo is complete without admiring the Baptistry, a small building just in front of the main doors. Take time to admire Michelangelo’s golden Gates of Paradise — three-ton bronze doors that tell the story of the Old Testament – a truly unique Renaissance masterpiece.
This tour ends by visiting the renowned Renaissance sculpture – Michelangelo’s David. Made from one piece of leftover marble, this 17-foot sculpture was created when Michelangelo was just 29 years old. Your expert guide will tell you stories of Michelangelo and his time in Florence, and how the Statue of David came to be.

Add the possibility of climbing the Duomo 30 minutes after the tour is over with skip-the-line tickets. In case it is sold out, you will be able to climb the bell tower of the Church instead. In addition, the tickets also include access to the Museo del Duomo. Please bear in mind that these are subject to availability and that we will need the full name and dates of birth of all participants in order to secure your climbs.

- Places of worship have strict dress code requirements for entry. All participants are required to have shoulders and knees covered (no tank tops or short dresses) to enter.
- There is no photography allowed in some or all areas of this tour.
- Backpacks are not permitted in the museum.
- Guests with wheelchair accessibility needs will find difficulty with this itinerary proposed in this tour. In order to ensure a barrier-free tour with alternative routes, please book the private version of this tour.
- The Florence Cathedral is an active church and can be closed unexpectedly for liturgical ceremonies.
- Lunch is not included in the price of the tour.

Add Duomo Dome or Bell Tower Climb and Duomo Museum ticket
Add skip-the-line tickets to climb the Brunelleschi Dome of the Florence Cathedral or Giotto's Bell Tower! Both offer spectacular views, however we can not always guarantee tickets to Brunelleschi's dome. When available, we will secure both Dome and Tower tickets, however, in some cases we may only provide tickets to Giotto's Bell Tower—a magnificent renaissance masterpiece offering sweeping views of the duomo and Florence.
This add-on is unguided, however your guide will ensure you know exactly where to enter, your entrance timing, and give you printed tickets. All tickets also include access to the Duomo Museum.
