Guide to Ciampino Airport Rome | Shops & Facilities

As Ciampino Airport is smaller than Fiumicino airport there are less facilities. Within the airport there are 16 departure gates, four baggage claim belts, and four information desk. If you need to check in your bags you should make sure that you arrive at the airport at least 2 hours early as there is always the possibility of queues.Ciampino also has a Banca di Roma stand in the airport and a few cash machines in the departure areas where you can take out any cash that you need or exchange the left over money that you had from your travels. One of the great things about this airport is that the entire airport is only one floor and has no bridges to get in and out of airplanes so you can easily walk around it. Although this does mean that you won’t be able to get a bus to your plane as you have to walk there. In the morning you will be able to pick up some traditional Italian meals including cornetto & coffee.
