We (a group of 4) set up four small group tours with LivItaly. I can not begin to say enough good things about our experience. All of their tour guides are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced and more than willing to spend additional time with us!!
We started in Rome with a tour of the Colosseum and the Roman Ruins led by Pamen. She was so knowledgeable and had great supplemental material to aide in bringing your imagination back in time to the gladiators and the Caesars!
Alessandra led us on a guided tour of Rome which included the Spanish Step, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, etc. She was incredibly knowledgeable as well with a wonderful personality.
Sergio met us at the Vatican for the early morning tour (highly recommended). He was so knowledgable in every aspect of the tour and when we asked him if we could see more of the Vatican Museums before going to St. Peter’s Basilica, he was more than willing and was eager to accommodate our request even though it delayed his personal plans for the day (lunch with his mother!) He spent an extra 1.5 hours with us!! (Unheard of!!!)
We also requested a day trip to Florence. Angelo, the owner of LivItaly, made arrangements for a van to pick us up at our Rome Hotel, drive us to Florence where we met our guide Raffaela!! Her incredible knowledge regarding the history of Florence (and her personal training as a artist having studied in Florence) gave such amazing insight into the paintings, sculptures , and techniques used by those incredible artist of the Renaissance!!
To top it off – my husband left his brand new cell phone in the back of the car! (Panic!!) We contacted Angelo and within 10 mins. the driver had returned with cell phone in hand!!
The one day we decided to take an unplanned day trip to Naples and the Almalfi Coast (arranged by our hotel concierge, was truly a disappointment. (We should have just contacted Angelo)
On our next trip to Italy, Raffaela has agreed to show us the best of Napoli and the splendor of Venice!!!! Can’t Wait!!!!
