Rome is a foodie’s paradise–the city is overflowing with restaurants serving all sorts of delicious fare. However, the vast selection can make choosing a place to eat a bit overwhelming. Don’t be scared, you’re not alone! Here are a few tips I’ve found helpful during my stay in the pasta paradise.

Tip #1: Avoid places where someone is standing outside is inviting you in.
Good restaurants should not have to pay someone to stand outside to convince you to come in–the food should speak for itself.

Tip #2: Look at the food.
This may seem silly, but it’s such an easy and quick way to distinguish the good places from the bad.

Tip #3: Do your research.
Look online! The internet is crawling with foodies that are dying to inform fellow travelers on the best spots to chow down.

Tip #4: Ask the locals!
Every local claims to know the BEST gelateria or the ULTIMATE pizzeria–take their advice, you won’t be disappointed
