Riomaggiore boasts a vibrant main street worth a visit, an appropriately romantic street called Via dell’amore (Love Street) as well as a 13th-century castle. The towns are small but details are many, and worth a stroll. Corniglia is especially known for its breathtaking views of the coastline, and that may just be because it is an elevated town. Corniglia is the only Cinque Terre town not directly on the beach, and the only way to get there is by walking down the Scalinata Lardarina, a winding staircase that takes you down to the sea. Vernazza is home to Cinque Terre’s only proper harbor is one of the more historic fishing villages of the area and is quite famous for its hiking thanks to its hilly terrain. Needless to say, the workout is worth the view of this colorful bell-tower town. Monterosso al Mare is a unique town as it is the only town that allows cars, but not to worry there is plenty of nature and a gorgeous footpath that connects the towns as well.
