Your LivTours Ferrari in Italy experience starts with a half-hour test drive in a Ferrari California. With an expert Ferrari copilot at your side, taking to the open road is the perfect way to see the surrounding landscape of this beautiful region. Your Ferrari California will take the adventurous driver, your accompanying Ferrari expert, and a passenger in the back on the drive of a lifetime. Your Ferrari experience does not end with your test drive, you will be able to relive those adrenaline-filled moments again as you take away a DVD recording of your test driver taken from an internal camera.
After your test drive, the tasting will begin! To start off, a guided tour will offer you an incredible opportunity to experience firsthand the process of Parmigiano Reggiano production and to meet the people who work here every day, all year round to craft this delicacy and preserve traditions. During the tour the secrets of this cheese will be unveiled and an exquisite tasting will be offered.
The tour starts from the processing department and continues along the corridor with a close-up look at different steps of the production cycle, including pre-salting room, salting vats containing about 2,100 wheels and the ‘warm room.’ Finally, you will reach the warehouse, with 33,570 Parmigiano Reggiano wheels being cured and then conclude with a visit to the cutting and packaging laboratory.
After the tour enjoy a tasting session combining differently aged Parmigiano Reggiano and some other fresh cheese, served with select local products and guided explanations. If you want to take some cheese with you, the store sells Parmigiano Reggiano DOP and a wide range of other traditional food items.
Next, you’ll discover the secretes behind the local prosciutto ham production at a processing factory. This stop will teach you about first and second salting, grooming and net packaging, desalting, washing, pre-curing, greasing, curing, quality control. Then, of course, you will get to taste! Here, a full lunch with a range of typical products will be brought out for you to enjoy.
Your last food stop will be a guided visit with tasting at a balsamic vinegar cellar and winery. Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is a renowned, exclusive and unique condiment, which stands out for its dark and shiny color, for its density, and its richness of aromas and flavors. Along with fresh bread and the balsamic vinegar, you will also taste the local wines produced from grapes grown on the premises.
Finally, last, but certainly not least, is a visit to the famous Ferrari Museum. Feel like a local as you stop for an espresso at the Ferrari bar before exploring the rest of the museum. You will see everything from vintage race cars to the jar dropping Ferrari trophy room!
