This Sightseeing at Sunrise Tour is designed to give you a pristine look at one of the most beautiful cities in the world, without the crowds!

ABOUT YOUR LIVITALY ROME MORNING TOUR

Your Rome Morning Tour starts with a meet and greet with your tour guide and the rest of your fellow travelers. This is a small group Rome tour which means no more than six people total will be on your tour (*see below for exceptions). Your local guide will accompany you on a morning walk towards the picture perfect Spanish Steps, 138 iconic steps conceptualized by the architect Francesco de Sanctis. Seeing these steps in the early morning sun is a traveler’s dream, but luckily you woke up early enough to experience it as reality. Continue on through the wonderful labyrinth cobblestone streets of Rome, escaping the traffic and confusion which is soon to seep in and enjoy this Baroque city as it was meant to be enjoyed – in the tranquility of the morning light.

Often considered an open air museum, Rome is an ideal place to explore on foot. Your tour guide will take you through centuries of history through anecdotes and tales of the architecture, iconic fountains and hidden piazzas that are tucked into every corner of this stunning city. One of the most majestic sites of all may well be the Pantheon. This once pagan temple has been transformed over the centuries into a Christian church and now remains a place of worship, as well as a tourist attraction thanks to the treasures it holds inside. The Pantheon holds the tombs of the famous Renaissance Raphael as well as King Vittorio Emanuele II and Umberto I, and Queen Margherita. As you walk along the piazza just outside the Pantheon, you will get a glimpse of early morning Roman life with shopkeepers opening up for a day of work.

Be prepared for yet another one of Rome’s most beautiful masterpieces seen by morning light – the Fountain of Trevi. By this point, your tour guide may have already explained why it is said that Rome was not built in a day. Beauty like this takes generations and geniuses to create. This fountain is no exception. Built by the architect Nicola Salvi, the Fountain of Trevi water source is actually that of many fountains of Rome – the original 19 BC ancient Roman aqueducts constructed by Agrippa, son in law of Emperor Augustus. Nothing is by chance when it comes to engineering and the arts in Rome. Romans pride themselves on pressing the beauty of their cultural heritage, and a fountain like this lays testament to such pride.

Your Early Morning Rome Tour will also take you to Piazza Navona, one of the most beautiful squares of Rome with architectural wonders by some of the greats such as Gianlorenzo Bernini, Francesco Borromini and Giacomo della Porta. Piazza Navona has been the inspiration for many Italian filmmakers and is a hot spot for tourists and locals on their daily stroll. The center of the square holds Bernini’s magnificent Four Rivers Fountain, ripe in symbolism. Its story is sure to spark conversation with your local guide.

CORNETTO & CAPPUCCINO
This tour includes a typical Italian breakfast which consists of a fresh cornetto, a layered pastry dough which is served plain, with cream or chocolate. Italians have a bit of a morning sweet tooth! You will not find a big breakfast on most menus throughout Italy, but you will certainly find something sweet to take you throughout the morning. And no Italian morning is complete without an espresso or cappuccino at the local bar. Enjoy a simply sweet breakfast and get your day started the Italian way!

When you book a LivItaly Small Group Tour, you are guaranteed one tour guide per group of 6 people. Please bear in mind though that in order to accommodate traveling families and friends, we do on rare occasion make the exception of adding an additional one to two guests in order not to split groups who are traveling together. On that same note, you may find yourself on tour with less than six people. As we accept bookings in multiples of six, math doesn’t always work in our favor to help accommodate individual travelers and their families when on the same tour, so we hope you understand and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
