LivTalks presents the The Last Supper: Beyond Da Vinci’s Masterpiece with Elisa in Milan! This webinar series will give you a comprehensive overview of one of the most important 15th century paintings, The Last Supper, a highlight of Milan. Elisa will talk about the many other paintings of a similar concept in Milan and what made da Vinci’s a claim to fame. Learn who da Vinci was inspired by and who he himself inspired with a visual overview of the various similar works of art. Discover how these different artists interpreted their last supper, starting with that of Gaudenzio Ferrari, placed in the second largest church of Milan. Gaudenzio was inspired not only by Leonardo, but also by Dürer, the best Renaissance artist in Germany – the result is a brilliant painting full of charm. We will then drop by San Nazaro to see Lanino’s Last Supper, very much inspired by Gaudenzio, as he worked with the maestro for some years. We will end our last supper tour in Brera, Milan’s most famous museum, to discover other two last supper painting in the early 17th century: Daniele Crespi, a talented artist from Milan, and finally Rubens’ impressive masterpiece.
