ABOUT YOUR AMALFI HELICOPTER TOUR
Your day will start with a morning private chauffeur pick up from your city center Rome hotel, where you will be escorted to Urbe Airport of Rome. Here you will meet your licensed pilot and your LivItaly tour guide who will be accompanying you throughout the entire journey. And what a journey awaits you! As you take off, you will immediately see why a helicopter tour is one of the best ways to truly immerse yourself in the landscape of this gorgeous country. A quick glance will lead your eyes to the ancient ruins of Rome, including the Colosseum and Ancient Forum. Admire the Renaissance era marvels such as Michelangelo’s Dome which stands tall atop St Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Look a bit further and there you will see Frascati and the Castelli Romani in southern Lazio. You will soon be whisked above the hills and onto stunning coastal views, on your way to Campania, a southern region of Italy – your destination!

(Please note that historic Rome is a no-fly zone so you will not be hovering over the above mentioned sights but they will be within clear view.)

Now that you are making your way down south, you will certainly be mesmerized by the coastal views from above. But a bit of history first. Your pilot will make their way over to one of the most fascinating natural sites in Italy – Vesuvius, a still active volcano! Hover over and dare to look into the eye of the volcano which once destroyed the whole town and its people of Pompeii. You and your group will be equipped with headphones and a microphone so you can easily communicate with your guide. Listen to the tales of that fateful day, and next see it first hand. Your pilot will make its safe landing in a designated heliport spot and you will then have both feet on the ground to get a bit more history under your belt.

TOUR POMPEII WITH A LOCAL ARCHAEOLOGIST
Your day consists of a 2 hour private tour of Pompeii with a LivItaly tour guide. Your local archaeologist will give you a comprehensive look at what life was like back in this ancient trade town, what made it one of the most important commerce towns of the Roman empire and what happened on that dreadful morning of 79 AD when Vesuvius erupted destroying its entire population.

AFTERNOON LUNCH IN CAPRI
Once your Pompeii tour is over, you will be taken back to the helicopter and to your next destination – the one that perhaps you have been waiting to see all morning – the stunning Amalfi Coast. From above! You will fly over the mountain side roads, and marvel at the wonders of urban infrastructure. This city is unlike any you will have seen. The Amalfi Coast waters below are a gorgeous blue – ideal for picture taking. Spot a private beach or two which is almost impossible to see in any other way than from the very seat you are in. Now off to another island! Next destination – Capri.

Your helicopter will land on this beautiful island and this time you will get to spend a bit of time on your own to explore, do a bit of shopping, have a bit of lunch, or have a dip in the sea. It is your day – you get to choose! You will have about 3 hours to yourself and enjoy southern Italy your way.

If you want to enjoy a long lunch, that is also a great way to spend your free time. Let your tour guide know what you would like to eat and they will make a reservation at a local restaurant with the seafood specialties. At the end of your meal, you will want to try limoncello, as this is one of the after meal drinks that this area is famous for, Most eateries make their own so try a local treat.

Now that your appetite for food, beauty and history are satiated it is time to go back to the helicopter and make your way back to Rome. Your Amalfi Helicopter Tour ends at the Urbe Airport in Rome, where you started and you will be driven back to your Rome hotel. Imagine a day which consists of VIP treatment in some of the most beautiful cities in Italy. That is the day you just had.
