1. Number 17 is associated with bad luck, not 13.
2. Spaghetti with meatballs doesn’t exist in Italian cuisine. It is an American invention.
3. Italians are afraid of cold weather and wind in general. It’s always a good idea to wear a turtleneck and/or a scarf.
4. It is never socially acceptable to wear flip-flops if you are not on the beach or by a pool.
5. An Italian would never order a cappuccino after a dinner.
6. Even though Italy is carb-heaven most people are very slim.
7. Italian drivers are crazy! Pedestrians have priority but you will need to look very determent and be careful to cross a street.
8. When Italians gets sick they like to blame it on the wind. They call it: “colpo di vento” and it is ALWAYS the wind’s fault if you get sick.
9. Sweets such as cookies and biscuits are considered a standard breakfast.
10. It’s a big difference between the word papa and papá. Papa refers to the Pope and Papá means Dad.
11. Any type of pasta does NOT go with any type of sauce. Don’t even ask why…
12. You can drink wine from lunch on without having people look at you strangely.
13. Do never ever go out with wet hair.
14. Sweets such as chocolate will make you digest after a long and filling dinner.
15. If you are late in Italy you can always blame the traffic or strike.
