If you are going to Rome you will probably fly to the major airport “Leonardo da Vinci Airport” or Fiumicino Airport as it is usually called. There are a lot of options to reach the city center from the airport. Here you have the full list,  pick the option that works best for you.

Get to Fiumicino on a budget
There are numerous bus companies with direct lines to the central station of Rome, Termini. If you are staying close to the Vatican you should choose the direct line to Piazza Cavour with SITBusShuttle. Buy tickets online or pay cash to the driver before boarding the bus. Normal fare is around 5€ one way.  The ride takes about 50 min.

Get to Fiumicino in a hurry
If you want to avoid the traffic the Leonardo Express is a good option.  The train leaves every 30 minutes and takes you non stop to Termini (the central station) in  30 minutes.  The tickets can be bought in machines on the train deck, 14€ per person one way. Children under the age of 12 years travels for free in company with one paying adult (one child per one adult). All children under the age of 4 years travels for free. Be aware of  people that wants to help you with your luggage, they will charge you for it.

Get to Fiumicino in a comfortable and luxurious way
Spoil yourself with a private chauffeur that is waiting for you in the arrival hall. Let him/her help you with your bags and relax in a luxurious car before you reach the door to your accommodations in the city center. The price is from 55€ for two persons going from Fiumicino. Get to Fiumicino by a Taxi
..the taxi option. Outside the terminals you will find a cue to the taxi stand. The ride costs around 40€ for up to 4 persons. Do not count on the newest model of car but it is comfortable to arrive directly at the hotel or apartment. Be aware of that the driver will charge you around 3€ extra per suitcase.
