High speed trains in Italy are comfortable and usually… more or less… on time. Book online in advance if you want to find the best bargains. You can also buy tickets directly at the train station but the prices can be double. The ride from Rome to Naples takes as little as 1 hour and 10 minutes. Prices starts from 19€ for adults.

Once you arrive to Naples you will change to a smaller local train known as the Circumvesuviana. Just follow the directions and you will easily find the platform. Trains leave every 30minutes during high season, and you can buy tickets in machines on the station. Your stop is called “Pompeii Scavi Villa Misteri,” the ride takes approximately 45 min.
